ChristianMingle is one of the largest Christian online dating services, with 2 million members in North America. It's been going since 1996, and has a good reputation. You can search for free, and if you want to do more than 'smile' at someone, pricing is on a par with other dating sites, and there are lots of communication features. The site has a good mix of serious daters lookign for marriage potential, to others looking for friendship with like-minded Christians. We recommend this site if you are new to online dating.
Christian Café
The first great thing about ChristianCafe is the free 10 day trial. While slightly smaller than Christian Mingle, it is growing rapidly and has a great selection of Canadians, even in my remote spot in the Maritimes! The site is simple and easy to use, and I particularly like their search interface, which gives great summary information on potential dates. With the free trial, this one's got to be worth a try!
Catholic Mingle
Now why wouldn't you want to try this if you are a single Christian of Catholic persuasion??! This is a specialist online dating site with very active message boards - this is a good sign! People still participate even after they have found their match, just to communicate socially. If you want to skip Christians who aren't Catholic, this is the online dating site to start on.

Big Church
BigChurch has many different features for members to use such as Blogs, Friend Network and Bible Groups. There is a 'standard' membership which is free, but you cannot communicate with paid members at this level, unless they have paid a little extra. But the Silver membership is reasonably priced. The BigChurch.com Magazine contains lots of contributions (articles, polls, answers to questions) from its regular members - an interesting feature. So in summary, this is a growing site, with lots of features. It's easy to set up a standard membership, so we think it's worth trying at this level.

Hey all you Christian personals! If you're thinking of looking to meet Christians online, here are a few things to consider when you're doing the online dating thing...
- Join a paid dating site. I know it's tempting to join a free one, but these are playgrounds for spammers and scammers. If you want to find real people who are serious about dating, you'll find them on personals sites where a financial commitment is required. Scammers and spammers don't like to pay!
- Always err on the side of caution. There's plenty of time, so don't be afraid of being cautious to begin with. When you're sure the person you're communicating with is genuine, you can start to open up more. Don't assume that just because the personals site you choose is a Christian one, everyone is nice! Always guard your personal information.
- If it comes to meeting, meet somewhere public, such as at church. You may think I'm sounding paranoid by now, but I want to make sure you have a safe and successful dating experience. Tell someone else when and where you are meeting, just in case. Better safe than sorry.
- Check everything out with your friends. When you fall head-over-heals and swoon every time you get email, this is the time to check with your friends that you're not being blinded by that lovin' feelin'. Believe me, it's easy to do crazy things when you're in love; your friends will give you some more down-to-earth perspective...
